Overview

Mitie Care & Custody (C&C) is committed to establishing HMP Millsike as a place of restoration and rehabilitation. The role supports the Offender Management Unit (OMU) within HMP Millsike, contributing directly to prisoner rehabilitation by managing administrative responsibilities and liaising with internal and external agencies.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities

This role is based within the OMU at HMP Millsike and involves:

  • Providing administrative support for the OMU, including record‑keeping and data entry in line with policy frameworks.
  • Co‑ordinating and managing the use of Offender Assessment System (OASys), Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL), bail and BASS applications, and Multi‑Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA).
  • Assisting with re‑categorisation of prisoners, sentence calculations, recall paperwork and documentation related to transfer and release.
  • Organising resettlement boards and processing parole applications.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data in accordance with established standards.
  • Supporting the OMU to meet its objectives of reducing re‑offending, by adhering to the Offender Management in Custody Model and related policy frameworks.
  • Engaging in continuous learning and completing mandatory training as required.
Person Specification
  • Intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience updating central data systems.
  • Clear written communication skills to meet customer expectations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, positive problem‑solving ability, and excellent organisational skills.
  • Capacity to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and to adapt to legislative and procedural changes.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and complete necessary training.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Diverse background experience in social care or learning environments welcomed.
