Job summary

Academics are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a Torfaen school. You will support learners, work with teaching staff and lead learning activities across the classroom.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships with pupils, adapt to diverse needs and ensure engaging, safe learning experiences. DBS/ EWC checks and two references are required or in process.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised HLTA qualification.
• DBS Update Service (or willing to obtain) and valid safeguarding checks.
• Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register.
• Provide two professional references relating to your work with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and provide effective classroom support.
• Support pupils both independently and in a wider team.
• Adapt communication and support to individual pupil needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff to maintain engagement.
