Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Cardiff from September. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across Foundation Phase, KS1 and KS2, lead small-group intervention sessions, and cover lessons during PPA time or staff absence with confidence and strong behaviour management.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or significant classroom experience required.
• Good understanding of the Curriculum for Wales.
• Confident leading whole-class learning.
• Able to adapt to different year groups and learning needs.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support learning across Foundation Phase, KS1 and KS2.
• Lead small group and intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy.
• Cover classes during PPA time or staff absence.
• Support teachers with planning, preparation and assessment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
