Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds & Ipswich is seeking a Hire Desk Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function at our Bury St Edmunds depot. The role offers a £32,000–£35,000 salary, with bonuses, and a 45‑hour week.

You will recruit and develop the team, drive add‑on sales of consumables, manage stock, oversee hires and transports, and ensure health and safety standards are met.

Qualificações

• Experience managing a hire desk and lead day‑to‑day operations.
• Strong people management and staff development abilities.
• Focus on revenue growth and add‑on sales to maximise profitability.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication with staff and customers, plus Health & Safety responsibilities.
• No more than 6 penalty points on license and no DG, DD or IN endorsements.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function.
• Recruit and develop team members & ensure adequate staffing cover.
• Drive add‑on sales by promoting consumables and accessories.
• Oversee stock control of consumables and resale items and re‑ordering.
• Ensure accurate processing of on‑hires, off‑hires, exchanges and transport activity.
• Monitor transport to meet deliveries and collections on time.
• Resolve customer queries and hire issues efficiently.
• Coordinate with Workshop Manager on equipment availability and hire readiness.
• Review key reports (hire, credit notes, live hire, customers).
• Ensure Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work are followed.
