Job summary

Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds & Ipswich is seeking a Driver's Mate in Ipswich to start ASAP. The role offers £13.50–£15 per hour with a guaranteed 10 hours per day, working Monday to Friday from around 5am to 6am, assisting workshop waste HGV drivers with manual tasks. 28 days holiday prorated on PAYE and potential upskilling to HGV/ADR/HIAB after probation.

This temporary position is commutable from nearby areas. A referral bonus is available for introducing a friend to the company.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with customers and colleagues.
• Be a reliable team player.
• Ability to manage a physically demanding role.

Responsibilities

• Assist HGV drivers with manual tasks at the depot and on sites.
• Load empty containers and exchange empties for full containers.
• Use drum trolley, electric pallet truck and tail lift on 18T rigid box.
