Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Hire Desk Manager to lead the desk and transport operations, ensuring efficient daily duties in a busy depot. A strong emphasis on revenue growth and staff development underpins the role.

You will manage hiring activities, maintain stock and compliance with health and safety standards while driving customer satisfaction and service levels. Immediate start available from the clients in Bury St Edmunds.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a hire desk or similar operations role.
• Strong people management and supervisory skills.
• Focus on driving revenue through add-on sales and service quality.
• Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function.
• Recruit and develop the team; ensure staffing cover.
• Drive add-on sales by promoting consumables and accessories.
• Oversee stock control and re-ordering of consumables and resale items.
• Process on hires, off hires, exchanges and transport activity accurately.
• Monitor transport performance to meet timescales.
• Resolve customer queries and hire issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Workshop Manager on equipment availability.
• Review key hire/credit/revenue reports and compliance with safety standards.
