Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a proactive individual to join the Traffic and Network Management Team on a permanent basis. The role involves assessing highway applications, minimising disruption and ensuring safety on the Staffordshire network, with on-site assessments across the county.

You will work with Inspectors, Officers and Managers, ensuring accurate records and compliant decision-making under TM Act 2004 and NRSWA; full UK driving licence required and LANTRA 12D accreditation

Qualifications

• Hold or be willing to train to acquire LANTRA 12D (M7) Supervisor accreditation.
• Experience in traffic and network management.
• Awareness of legislation: Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Highways Act 1980.
• Ability to interrogate data and make recommendations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess impact of highway applications in collaboration with Inspectors, Officers, Administrators and Coordination Managers.
• Evaluate suitability of items on the highway and changes to vehicle access crossings.
• Provide advice and apply amendments or restrictions to meet Traffic Management Act 2004 and NRSWA requirements.
• Maintain precise records of inspection activities and report to the Traffic & Network Inspections Managers.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Seek resolutions for customers where applications would otherwise be refused.
