Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a proactive professional to join the Traffic and Network Management Team in a permanent on-site capacity across the county. You will assess highway applications, coordinate with inspectors and managers, and help minimise disruption while ensuring safety and compliance with the Traffic Management Act 2004 and NRSWA.

The ideal candidate will hold or be willing to train to LANTRA 12D (M7) Supervisor accreditation, have experience in traffic and network

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to interrogate data and make recommendations.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Hold or be willing to train to acquire LANTRA 12D (M7) Supervisor accreditation.
• Experience in traffic and network management.
• Awareness of Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Highways Act 1980.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Inspectors, Officers, Administrators and Coordination Managers to assess the impact of applications.
• Assess suitability of items placed on the highway and alterations to vehicle access crossings.
• Provide advice and apply amendments, controls or restrictions to work to meet statutory requirements.
• Maintain precise records of inspection activities and report to managers.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and aim to resolve applications where possible.
• Complete assessments on site across the county.
