Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Network Management Technician to support highway permit schemes across the County. You will assess permit applications, issue licences, and assist the Street Works Compliance Inspector to improve road network efficiency and safety.

The role may require travel across the County and occasional out-of-hours work to cover locations beyond the base. Full-time, permanent contract with 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Strong customer focus and able to liaise with customers and clients; good written and verbal communication.
• Experience of IT in design office/business environment including Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
• Knowledge of highways legislation relevant to the service area and CDM regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess permit applications and make corrections/suggestions; issue licences to allow works to proceed.
• Support the Street Works Compliance Inspector with inspections and information sharing.
• Monitor progress and report non-compliance for further action.
• Travel to locations across the County as required, including out-of-hours work.
