Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Planner to join the Birmingham Highways Maintenance Contract team based in Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham. The role is an 8-month fixed term contract, 40 hours per week.

You will develop, maintain and monitor programmes, optimize resources, mitigate risks and ensure delivery on time, within budget, and compliant with governance standards. Strong organisation, stakeholder engagement and proficiency with MS Office and project planning tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and managing project programmes for capital works or construction projects.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of project timelines with overall programme objectives and track milestones.
• Plan and allocate resources across multiple projects, identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and risks early and propose corrective actions and contingency plans.
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, and internal teams while maintaining programme governance with permits.
