Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative to join the Birmingham team. The role is permanent and full-time, based in Birmingham, with a salary of £28,000 to £33,000 depending on experience, plus call out, overtime, and standby allowances.

The successful candidate will support reactive works, emergency response and improvement projects, helping keep roads safe and well-maintained within the Birmingham network.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence is required.
• Streetworks qualifications units 1-9 required.
• Ability to work under pressure in a safety-critical role.
• Good communication with stakeholders and team.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents on the network within designated timescales, liaising with emergency services and minimising traffic disruption.
• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to the network using plant and equipment.
• Operate a variety of plant and equipment and ensure site and company equipment is secure at all times.
• Use digital systems to provide accurate records of works carried out on the network.
• Promote customer care by dealing with the public and clients in a polite and courteous manner.
