Job summary

Amey seeks a permanent Highways Supervisor to oversee operational activities at Pytchley Depot, Kettering (NN15 6XS). The role covers day and night shifts with a 45-hour week, delivering highways maintenance on the network and coordinating with clients and subcontractors.

You will supervise teams, ensure safety and quality, monitor progress, and contribute to continuous improvement while supporting the development and wellbeing of team members.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising highways maintenance or similar operational environment.
• Experience delivering service delivery and team coordination.
• Ability to communicate with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements is desirable.
• Experience planning, coordinating or monitoring work activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational teams carrying out highways maintenance activities.
• Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with procedures and contractual requirements.
• Monitor progress against programmes and support delivery of planned and reactive works.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure standards are met.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records and update works management systems.
• Work with teams to resolve site issues and support service delivery.
• Liaise with clients, authorities and stakeholders on planned activities.
• Assist in emergency response and winter maintenance when required.
• Promote a positive safety culture and compliance with standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and service delivery enhancements.
• Support development and wellbeing of team members through communication and guidance.
