A local government authority in Morpeth is seeking a Highway Asset Management Technician to assist in the management and maintenance of the county's highway assets. This role involves data collection using GIS, conducting site inspections, and collaborating with contractors and stakeholders. Candidates should have a BTEC National Certificate or equivalent in Civil Engineering and a full driving license. The Service Highways and Transport is responsible for the provision of three key functions across Northumberland. We manage, maintain and improve the highway and transport network, to make sure that everyone can travel safely on our roads, footways and cycleways throughout the year. Alongside this we carry out the network management function to effectively co-ordinate works on the highway network to minimise disruption to residents and the travelling public. We also provide the Lead Local Flood Authority and Coastal Protection Authority roles. We manage an investment of over £25m per year in highway maintenance and improvement schemes through the annual capital maintenance programme. Based within Highways and Transport Service in the Place and Regeneration Directorate, the Highway Asset Management Team provide a high quality service to manage the long term functionality and serviceability of all highway assets within the County.

The Job is based in County Hall, Morpeth but you may be required to travel around the county.
