Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children's Therapy Team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the position of Highly Specialised Community Paediatric Physiotherapist based at Greenmead School.
Due to relocation of the current post holder the Children's Therapy Team is recruiting, and this post will be integral in the delivery of quality services to children at Greenmead School and in community settings.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will have skills and experience in assessment and management of this varied and complex caseload, working closely with the wider Children's Therapy Team including colleagues across four AHP professions in children's services – Consultants, Specialist Medical Teams, Nurse Specialists, Nursing Staff, other members of the MDT, and education colleagues in early years settings and schools in Wandsworth – to provide a multi‑disciplinary approach.

Education / Qualifications
- Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Evidence of continued professional development, including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field
Desirable
- Recognised postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc or equivalent)
- Postgraduate course(s) in management
- Leadership training
- Member of relevant special interest groups (e.g. APCP)
Experience
- Applicable post‑registration NHS experience as a specialist paediatric physiotherapist
- Experience working in the community
- Experience preparing complex reports
- Multidisciplinary team working
- Broad range of experience at Band 5/6 level including ICU, medical, surgery, neurology, musculoskeletal and elderly care
- Student supervision / clinical education
- Experience in paediatrics including neuro‑rehabilitation, neuro‑developmental, musculoskeletal and orthopaedics
- Knowledge and experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of paediatric patients, demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
- Sound knowledge of the management of paediatric patients with neurological, musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions, including evidence‑based strategies
- Experience managing/supervising other physiotherapists
- Teaching in a clinical setting
Desirable (Experience)
- Previous experience at Band 7 level in the relevant clinical area
- Knowledge of clinical gait analysis / biomechanics
