FedEx is hiring a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician for our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Maidstone. You will service and maintain our fleet, ensuring safety, legality, and reliability.

Working hours are 40 per week, with base pay of £17.93 per hour plus premiums for evening/night hours. The role involves completing service records, defect reports, and preparing vehicles for MOT testing, along with ad-hoc repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience performing service and inspection on commercial vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose and repair vehicle defects and ensure safe, legal operation.
• Welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Must possess a valid driving license and relevant LGV qualification.

Responsibilities

• Complete service and inspection records as required.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to support first-time pass.
• Carry out ad-hoc repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of tools and maintain good housekeeping.
