Job summary

FedEx is recruiting a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering Team at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Bradford. You will maintain FedEx assets, ensuring safety and reliability by servicing a fleet of vehicles and trailers according to maintenance schedules.

The role requires lifting heavy components and performing inspections to ensure legal compliance with MOT standards.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with licenses / vocational training in commercial vehicle repairs.
• City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.

Responsibilities

• Completion of signed service and inspection records.
• Completion of defect reports and related paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing (1st time pass).
• Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
• Ensure safe use of tools and equipment; maintain housekeeping; perform other duties as required by management.
