Job summary
GBJ FedEx Express UK Transportation Limited is seeking a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join the Engineering Team in Exeter. You will maintain the company fleet, ensure safety and legal compliance, and work a 40-hour week with shift flexibility.
The role requires LGV C&E license and City & Guilds 1 & 2 in commercial vehicle repairs, with opportunities for overtime premia for evening and night hours. Competitive benefits apply.
Qualifications
- Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence)
- City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
- Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment
- Must possess valid driving license
Responsibilities
- Complete signed service and inspection records
- Complete defect reports and paperwork to meet legal requirements
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to a first-time pass
- Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects
- Ensure safe use of tools and equipment
- Maintain housekeeping and perform other duties as assigned
