GBD FedEx Express UK Transportation Limited in Newcastle-under-Lyme is seeking a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team. You will maintain FedEx assets’ safety and reliability by servicing the fleet in line with maintenance schedules and ensuring legal compliance.

The role operates 40 hours per week with night shifts, and base pay of £21.70/hour plus night premiums (£2.33 for 7pm–10pm and £2.82 for 10pm–6am).

Qualifications

Fully skilled with LGV C&E licence (class one) or equivalent.
City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
Knowledge of automotive testing and troubleshooting equipment.
Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.
Experience with welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting.
Must possess a valid driving license.
Previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

Completion of signed service and inspection records.
Completion of defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing (1st time pass).
Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs and rectify defects.
Ensure safe use of all tools, plant and equipment.
Maintain good housekeeping and carry out other duties as required.
