Job summary

Interaction Technical seeks an experienced HGV Technician to join their Grimsby workshop on days. You will service, diagnose and repair a Scania fleet, ensuring safety and compliance with DVSA standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Technician or equivalent.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Experience working on Scania vehicles advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on a fleet of predominantly Scania HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Complete routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Strip, inspect and rebuild major vehicle components including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems.
• Conduct vehicle testing and fault-finding to ensure fleet reliability and DVSA compliance.
• Record maintenance activities accurately through workshop management systems.
• Support workshop efficiency by maintaining high-quality workmanship and productivity standards.
• Work collaboratively with fellow technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Adhere to all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices.

Job Role: HGV Technician (Days)

Salary: £38,(Apply online only)-£43,(Apply online only) per annum

Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire

Hours: Continental Shift Pattern

06:00am - 6:00pm
1.5-hour unpaid break
2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off rota

Overtime available and paid at 1.3x hourly rate

Overtime Earnings Potential

• Based on a £43,(Apply online only) salary:
  • 5 hours per week overtime: Approx. £45,500 per annum
  • 10 hours per week overtime: Approx. £48,(Apply online only) per annum
  • 15 hours per week overtime: Approx. £50,500+ per annum

The Role

• Complete safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements.
• Record maintenance activities accurately through workshop management systems.
• Support workshop efficiency by maintaining high-quality workmanship and productivity standards.
• Work collaboratively with fellow technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Adhere to all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices.

The Requirements

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician (essential).
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent (essential).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Proven ability to strip, inspect and rebuild vehicle components.
• Experience working on Scania vehicles would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team.
