Interaction Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV Technician (Days) to join a Scania fleet specialist team in Louth. You will service and repair a modern Scania fleet, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with DVSA requirements.

The role offers a continental shift pattern, 6:00am–6:00pm hours, and a clear path for training and career progression within a professional workshop environment.

Competenze

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician – essential.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent – essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components.
• Experience working with Scania vehicles – advantageous.
• Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• A full UK driving licence – essential.
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing.
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team.

Mansioni

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems.
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding.
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements.
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency.
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices.

Salary: £38,000 – £43,000 per annum
Location: Louth, Lincolnshire
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Continental – 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off
Hours: 06:00am – 6:00pm, including a 1.5-hour unpaid break

Overtime: Available and paid at 1.3x hourly rate

Overtime Earning Potential

Based on a salary of £43,000 per annum, additional overtime could increase your annual earnings to approximately:

• 5 hours' overtime per week: £45,500 per annum
• 10 hours' overtime per week: £48,000 per annum
• 15 hours' overtime per week: £50,500+ per annum

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a predominantly Scania fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant legislation.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
