Job summary

Interaction Technical are recruiting an HGV Technician (Days) / Scania Fleet Specialist to join their workshop in Louth, delivering maintenance on a Scania fleet.

This role offers a stabile, modern workshop environment with ongoing training and real scope for career progression within a leading vehicle maintenance operation. You will work on a predominantly Scania fleet, maintaining safety, reliability and compliance across all duties.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician - essential
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent - essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components
• Experience working with Scania vehicles - advantageous
• Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• A full UK driving licence - essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices

HGV Technician (Days) - Scania Fleet Specialist

Salary: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum

Location: Louth, Lincolnshire

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: Continental - 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off

Hours: 06:00am - 6:00pm, including a 1.5-hour unpaid break

Overtime: Available and paid at 1.3x hourly rate

Based on a salary of £43,000 per annum, additional overtime could increase your annual earnings to approximately:

• 5 hours' overtime per week: £45,500 per annum
• 10 hours' overtime per week: £48,000 per annum
• 15 hours' overtime per week: £50,500+ per annum

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a predominantly Scania fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and compliant with all relevant legislation.

Your duties will include:
