Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking an HGV Technician in Peterborough to advance your career within a supportive team. The role offers a clear path to obtain an HGV license and IRTEC qualification, with training investments in site and business growth.

You will service, repair and maintain HGVs and trailers, diagnose faults, prepare vehicles for MOT, and support the parts team while maintaining accurate paperwork and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience in the motor trade in a similar role.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV licence would be fantastic, but not essential. If youre the right person and dont currently hold one, we’ll support you in gaining your licence after six months.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Attending roadside breakdowns when required.
• Working closely with the parts department.
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately.
• Keeping your technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training.
