Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join a busy independent workshop network. You will service, repair and prepare vehicles for MOT, with opportunities to obtain an HGV licence and IRTEC/ATA training if desired.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence is required
• HGV licence would be fantastic, but not essential; training support after six months

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Attending roadside breakdowns when required
• Working closely with the parts department
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately
• Keeping technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic - commercial vehicle, LGV, HGV, fleet

YOU'LL IDEALLY HAVE:

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
• Recent experience working within the motor trade in a similar role
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• An HGV licence would be fantastic, but it's not essential. If you're the right person and don't currently hold one, we'll support you in gaining your licence after six months.
