Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their Peterborough workshop. The role offers a pathway to gain your HGV license and IRTEC qualification, with training and support provided.

You will service, diagnose, repair and prepare vehicles for MOT, with opportunities for overtime and a company investing in its team and career development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Recent experience in motor trade in a similar role is desirable
• Full UK driving licence is essential

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Attending roadside breakdowns when required
• Working closely with the parts department
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately
• Keeping technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include

PERSON SPECIFICATION

HGV Technician, HGV Fitter, HGV Mechanic - commercial vehicle, LGV, HGV, fleet

You’ll ideally have

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent experience)
• Recent experience working within the motor trade in a similar roleStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• An HGV licence would be fantastic, but it's not essential. If you're the right person and don't currently hold one, we'll support you in gaining your licence after six months.
