Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a motivated HGV Technician in Peterborough to service, repair and maintain HGVs and trailers. The role includes training opportunities and support to obtain an HGV licence and IRTEC qualification.

You will work as part of a team in a company that invests in its people, equipment and workshop. The package includes a competitive salary up to £45,000 and overtime where available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Recent experience in the motor trade with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
• HGV licence would be beneficial; company will support gaining it after six months.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, light vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT.
• Attending roadside breakdowns when required.
• Working closely with the parts department.
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately.
• Keeping technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training.
