Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is seeking a Vehicle Technician at our Peterborough depot, working on a wide range of makes and models from servicing to complex diagnostics. You will own your area of work and be trusted to complete jobs to a high standard.

We offer a competitive salary up to £45,000 with benefits and opportunities to develop through accredited training, plus overtime and progression as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant vehicle maintenance/repair discipline or strong proven experience.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and rectifying in-depth and complex diagnostic faults.
• Carrying out service, maintenance and repairs across a range of cars and LGVs.
• Liaising with the Parts Department to ensure efficient completion of jobs.
• Completing job cards, service sheets, clocking and other documentation accurately.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised workspace.
• Maintaining up-to-date product and technical knowledge and attending training.
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and other team members when required.

Education

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant vehicle maintenance/repair discipline

As our Vehicle Technician, you'll take ownership of your own area of work and will be trusted to complete the job to a high standard.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Vehicle Technician, Diagnostic Technician - Cars & LGV, Automotive

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a vehicle and, more importantly, knows how to find the fault when things aren't straightforward.

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant vehicle maintenance/repair discipline, or strong proven experience.
• Higher-level diagnostic training or previous experience in a similar senior diagnostic role.
• A full, valid driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team and support less experienced technicians.
