Kemp Recruitment Limited in Peterborough is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a growing commercial vehicle maintenance business. You’ll work on a modern fleet alongside skilled technicians, with ongoing training and competitive hourly rates.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• Experience as an HGV Technician or similar role.
• Experience maintaining HGVs and trailers.
• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Fault finding and diagnostics.
• Preventative maintenance inspections.
• MOT preparation and presentation.
• Brake testing and safety inspections.
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs.
• Accurately completing job cards and service records.
• Working efficiently while maintaining health and safety standards.

Job description

HGV Technician

Location: Peterborough

Salary: £19.50 - £23.50 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 5.30pm or 6.30am -4.30pm

Weekend Rota: Saturdays 7:30am – 12:30pm (rota)

On-Call: Paid on a rota basis

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining a fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers to the highest standards, including:

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Preventative maintenance inspections
• MOT preparation and presentation
• Brake testing and safety inspections
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
• Accurately completing job cards and service records
• Working efficiently while maintaining excellent health and safety standards

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this HGV Technician role, you'll ideally have:

• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Experience maintaining HGVs and trailers
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Good understanding of health and safety practices
• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence is advantageous but not essential
