Job summary

Holt Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic for a permanent, on-site position in Northampton. The role involves repairing vehicles per manufacturer procedures, diagnosing faults, and ensuring warranty compliance.

Applicants should have HGV experience, own tools, a UK driving licence, and ideally City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics. Class 1/2 licenses are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Mechanic or HGV Technician.
• Must have own tools.
• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics preferred; apprenticeship trained ok.

Responsibilities

• Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Comply with warranty procedures during repairs.
• Report all vehicle defects to the workshop controller.

Our client, a well-established commercial vehicle dealership, is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their team.

As an HGV Mechanic you will be responsible for

• Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Comply with warranty procedures during repairs.
• Ensure that all vehicle defects are reported to your workshop controller.

The successful HGV Mechanic should have

• Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic, HGV Technician or HGV Fitter.
• Must have own tools.
• Ideally be apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Class 1 or 2 licence desirable.
