Job summary

Holt Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced HGV Technician/Mechanic for a permanent role in Birmingham. The position offers a salary up to £60,000 per annum and a supportive workshop environment.

You will service, maintain and repair heavy vehicles in line with manufacturer guidelines, diagnose faults, and ensure warranty procedures are followed with proper documentation. UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic/Fitter is essential.
• Own tools required.
• Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs per manufacturer guidelines.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
• Follow warranty procedures and complete documentation accurately.
• Identify and report additional defects to ensure high-quality work.

As an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Diagnosing faults efficiently using the latest diagnostic equipment and repair methods.
• Following warranty procedures throughout the repair process and completing all relevant documentation accurately.
• Identifying and reporting any additional vehicle defects to the Workshop Controller to ensure the highest standard of work.

To be successful in this role as a HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter, you should have:

• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter is essential.
• Own tools required.
