Cameron Clarke Associates t/a talent-finder is seeking a skilled HGV Technician/Mechanic to service, repair and maintain our fleet in Black Bourton, Oxfordshire.

Role involves electrical/mechanical servicing, fault finding, brake testing and MOT preparation. Monday to Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm with optional Saturday overtime. Salary £45,000 - £48,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical knowledge for servicing, maintenance and fault finding on HGVs.
• Experience with diagnostic and brake testing is essential.
• Own tools required; larger/specialist equipment provided.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs (mechanical and electrical).
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs.
• Conducting 6-weekly inspections.
• Brake testing and diagnostic testing (experience essential).
• MOT preparation.
• Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and roadworthy.
• Maintaining accurate service records and PMI paperwork.

HGV Technician / Mechanic

Location: Black Bourton, Oxfordshire
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (Saturday overtime optional)
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum

An established plant hire company with over 50 years of industry experience, providing high-quality plant and digger hire across the UK, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to maintain and repair their HGV fleet.

We take pride in delivering reliable, well-maintained equipment and exceptional service to our customers, prioritising safety and operational excellence. This role is key to maintaining fleet reliability and supporting operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs (mechanical and electrical)
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
• Conducting 6-weekly inspections
• Brake testing and diagnostic testing (experience essential)
• MOT preparation
• Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and roadworthy
• Maintaining accurate service records and completing all relevant PMI paperwork

About You

Essential

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic
• Strong mechanical knowledge, including servicing, maintenance, and fault finding on HGVs
• Experience with diagnostic testing and brake testing is essential (support available, but prior experience required)
• Own tools required (standard personal tools expected; larger/specialist equipment provided)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Class 2 (Category C) driving licence

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
• Saturday work is optional and paid as overtime
