Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy fleet workshop in Oldbury, West Midlands. You will service, diagnose and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles, with a pathway to Master Technician and structured training.

The role offers Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00, a salary around £40,000, a £1,500 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits including pension and life assurance. Applicants must have Level 3 heavy vehicle qualification and the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Previous HGV Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop.
• Full UK, Irish or EU Class C or CE driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults.
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing.
• Complete repairs to required safety and quality standards.
• Maintain workshop documentation and health & safety standards.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic - Oldbury

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy fleet workshop in Oldbury. Applicants must have previous HGV workshop experience, hold a recognised Level 3 heavy vehicle qualification, a valid manual driving licence and have the right to work in the UK.

Location: Oldbury, West Midlands, B69

Salary:around £40,000 with free hgv driver training and training to master tech level to your salary plus sign on bonus of £1500

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-5 | 42 hours per week

HGV Technician Role

• Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles

HGV Technician Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent recognised heavy vehicle technical qualification
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or LCV Technician
• Strong servicing, repair and fault-finding experience
• Full UK, Irish or EU Class C or CE manual driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to successfully complete the required pre-employment screening process
