Job summary

Commercial Vehicles - Confidential Employer in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service, maintain and repair heavy goods vehicles. You will diagnose faults, prepare vehicles for MOT and complete accurate maintenance records.

The role runs 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday with alternate Saturday mornings, and offers overtime rate and a pay up to £20.50 per hour DOE, plus a range of company benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV technical qualification.
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or HGV Mechanic.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• A full and valid UK manual driving licence.
• The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Permanent Position

Up to £20.50 per hour DOE

Overtime paid at time and a half

45 hours per week

Monday to Friday - Perm Days

Alternate Saturdays

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Preparing vehicles for MOT
• Completing vehicle safety inspections and checks
• Ensuring all repairs are completed safely and to required standards
• Completing job cards, paperwork and maintenance records accurately
• Maintaining up-to-date technical and product knowledge
• Following all Health & Safety, environmental and workshop procedures
• Attending technical training when required

SHIFT PATTERN

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

• Early Shift: 07:00 - 16:30
• Late Shift: 09:30 - 19:00

Alternate Saturday mornings are also required and paid at the overtime rate.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent HGV technical qualification
• Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, Truck Technician or HGV Mechanic
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• A full and valid UK manual driving licence

A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
