Job summary

Evri is seeking a HGV Class 2 driver in Preston for a permanent 45-hour week. Mon-Fri shifts, 8am–6pm with a 60-minute unpaid meal relief. Salary £37,042.20 per year. You will drive a Volvo vehicle, handle loading/unloading at sites, and ensure on-time deliveries.

You'll inspect your vehicle daily, complete defect reports, and work with a well-organised schedule that keeps you home after each 9-hour shift. Benefits include paid leave and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence is essential.
• Driver CPC qualification is required.
• DCPC training hours completed or being worked towards.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our fleet of Volvo vehicles.
• Plan routes and manage stops (average 4–6 per shift).
• Ensure timely delivery to customers and safe operation of vehicle/trailer.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and complete defect reports when needed.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’llstill be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
