Job summary

Evri is seeking a dedicated HGV Driver - Class 1 in Manchester. The role involves night trunking to regional hubs, driving a modern Volvo fleet, and delivering goods with a focus on timeliness. You will plan routes independently, inspect vehicles daily, and report defects as needed.

Shift patterns are Monday to Friday, typically 5/6pm starts with 9-hour shifts, 45 hours weekly. A Class 1 licence and Driver CPC are essential, with opportunities for progression within a leading parcel delivery

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driving licence is a minimum requirement.
• Driver CPC qualification card is required.
• Completed DCPC training hours or working toward them.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe road use.

Responsibilities

• Trunking to regional hubs on the night shift and planning routes.
• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet and ensure timely deliveries.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete a Defect Report if needed.
• Possibly load/unload at sites and operate pallet trucks when required.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
