Evri in Gloucester is hiring a HGV Driver Class 1 or 2 to join our permanent team. You will drive a modern Volvo truck, working a 45-hour week (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-6pm) with a daily 1-hour unpaid break. Join the UK’s premier parcel delivery company and enjoy structured shifts with predictable routes.

The role includes handling cages, pallets and freight, with some sites offering loading/unloading. You’ll inspect vehicles daily and keep accurate defect records, and benefit from annual leave,

Competenze

• Class 1 driving licence and Driver CPC required.
• Knowledge of UK Road Transport Laws.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.

Mansioni

• Plan and drive routes with minimal supervision.
• Ensure cages, pallets, freight and trailers are delivered on time.
• Assist with loading/unloading where required and operate pallet trucks if needed.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and submit Defect Reports when necessary.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

The role is based on 45 paid hours per week, typically worked as 9 paid hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an additional 1-hour unpaid break each day.

Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
