Evri in Runcorn is hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our permanent team. You’ll operate a Volvo lorry with high-spec features, enjoying modern equipment and a comfortable ride for long routes.

Monday–Friday, 9-hour shifts (often 7–8am starts), routes with 4–6 stops, and home after each shift. We offer 28 days’ annual leave, career progression, and flexible perks such as vouchers, insurance, and healthcare.

Competenze

• Class 1 driving licence held in good standing.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• Completed required DCPC training hours or working towards them.
• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safe driving.

Mansioni

• Drive a Volvo lorry from our fleet with high-spec features.
• Plan routes and manage 4–6 stops per shift; 9-hour shifts.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete defect report if needed.
• Scan consignments and move pallets when required.
• Ensure on-time deliveries to customers and home after each shift.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’re comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’llstill be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
