Hermes-d83ba13 is seeking a HGV Driver Class 1 in Oxford. The role is permanent, 45 hours per week, with Monday to Friday shifts from 9am to 6pm. Salary is £37,042.20 per year.

Competenze

• Must hold a Class 1 driving licence.
• Must hold Driver CPC card.

• Excellent knowledge of road transport laws and safe driving practices.

Mansioni

• Drive a lorry from our fleet of Volvo vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Plan routes with minimal supervision and maintain schedule adherence.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and report defects; complete Defect Reports if needed.
• Unload or assist with loading at sites when required and operate pallet trucks as needed.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - butyou’llstill be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
