Job summary

Evri is hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver in Coventry. You will drive a modern Volvo tractor unit on night shifts, with 9-hour shifts and a 45-hour week. The role includes trunking to regional hubs, some site loading/unloading, and daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and on-time deliveries.

Salary is £42,798.60 plus nights allowance. You’ll join the UK’s premier parcel delivery company with 28 days annual leave and clear career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driving licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from a Volvo fleet (all <4 years old).
• Trunking to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete a Defect Report if needed.
• Some sites involve loading/unloading; pallet handling possible.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
