Evri in York is seeking an experienced HGV Driver - Class 1 to join the team. You will operate a newer Volvo lorry, follow a Monday to Friday schedule, and work 45 hours per week with 9-hour days starting early in the morning. You’ll be home every night and contribute to reliable parcel delivery.
The role requires a Class 1 licence, Driver CPC card, and DCPC training hours (completed or underway). The package includes generous annual leave and progression opportunities.
Earn an additional £1 per hour with our seasonal allowance, payable up to and including Christmas Day 2026

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They're a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leather seats and many more optional extras to make sure you're comfortable.
Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day which typically start at 7/8am. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you'll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.
We don't micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, so there's plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road - but you'll still be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift.
You’ll make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others, you’ll need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.
You’ll be responsible for inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
We’re proud to offer a workplace where everyone can thrive. Here’s what you can expect:
