Job summary

Serco in Basingstoke is seeking an HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver/Loader to provide a complete waste and recycling service for residents and businesses. You’ll work with a team of loaders on a pre-planned route, presenting a friendly, professional image in the community and ensuring vehicle safety checks are completed before rounds.

The role requires a valid HGV license (Class 1/2), Driver CPC and Tacho Card, with a strong work ethic, physical fitness and a team‑oriented mindset to hit targets

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence / Driver CPC & Tacho Card.
• Hard working and physically fit for the role.
• Willing to go the extra mile to support the team.
• Team player with a customer‑facing approach.

Responsibilities

• Set off on a pre-planned route collecting waste and recycling from residential and commercial sites with loaders.
• Be the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and keep the truck clean and ready for use.

As a HGV Refuse & Recycling Driver/Loader in our Basingstoke team, you'll provide a complete waste and recycling service on behalf of the residents and community in Basingstoke. With a professional, dedicated and friendly team of Refuse Collection staff, we ensure that streets, homes and businesses are kept clean, safe and tidy, whilst providing the very best levels ofcustomer serviceto all members of the community that we serve.

You’ll be entrusted to:

• You will set off on a pre-planned route as the driver with your team of Loaders you are working with collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties.
• You will be the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services team in the community.
• Before setting out on your rounds, you will ensure that your vehicle safety checks are completed and that your truck is clean and work ready.Does this sound like you?
