Job summary

Adecco is hiring an HGV Refuse Collection Driver / Loader in Mid Sussex, England. The role offers pre-planned routes, set start and finish times, and a supportive environment for key workers to protect the environment.

The position requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence with up to 6 points, Driver CPC, and strong communication. Hours are 7am–3pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime opportunities and weekly pay.

Responsibilities

Salary: GBP17.68 - GBP17.68 per hour

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you’ll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

Your typical working hours will be:

• 7am to 3pm, Monday – Friday
• Overtime opportunities available

What you’ll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
