Job summary

Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds is recruiting HGV Drivers to start ASAP for a client based in Bury St Edmunds. You will receive competitive pay rates and full support from our experienced Driver Hire team.

We hire for Class 1 and 2 roles with day or night shifts, ADR options, and a referral bonus. Duties include diverse pallet deliveries, trunking, and heavy-handballing; CPC and Digicard are required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual licence (driving)
• Category C or CE entitlement
• Valid CPC and Digicard
• No more than 6 penalty points
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements
• Newly qualified drivers welcome

Responsibilities

• Deliver Class 1 & 2 pallet network shipments with 7:00-7:30 starts or other shift patterns.
• Night drivers delivering automotive parts in roll cages from midnight.
• 7.5T drivers delivering flooring with heavy handballing.
• Class 1 trunk drivers with ADR and non-ADR trunking options from 7:00pm.

HGV Driver

Pay rate: £14.79 - £19.96

Contract: Type: Temporary to Permanent

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for HGV Drivers to start ASAP for our client based in Bury St Edmunds, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team.

The successful HGV Drivers will receive:

• Class 1:
  • Days - £15.54/hr
  • Nights - £17.71/hr
  • ADR - £2.25/hr extra
• Class 2:
  • Days - £14.79/hr
  • Nights - £16.82/hr
  • ADR - £2.25/hr extra.

Guaranteed 10hrs per day.

28 days holiday prorated on PAYE.

Upskilling to HGV, ADR and HIAB after satisfactory probation period.

What to expect as a HGV Drivers:

We're recruiting for a variety of roles within the same company based in Bury St Edmunds.

• Class 1 & 2 Pallet Network: 7:00-7:30am starts | General pallet deliveries.
• Night Drivers: Midnight starts | Automotive parts delivered in roll cages.
• 7.5T Drivers: 7:00am starts | Flooring deliveries with heavy handballing.
• Class 1 Trunk Drivers: 7:00pm starts | ADR and non-ADR trunking available.

As a HGV Driver you must:

• Full UK manual licence

• Have no more than 6 effective penalty points
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements
• Just passed? No problem - we welcome newly qualified drivers for this role too!

This position is commutable from Stowmarket, Ipswich, Thetford, Cambridge, Newmarket and other areas nearby to Bury St Edmunds.
