Job summary

Driver Hire Sudbury is seeking Class 1 and Class 2 HGV drivers for a temporary, adhoc role with part-time shifts and potential for full-time work. PAYE rates start at £16.25/h for Class 2 and £17.37/h for Class 1, Monday–Friday day work.

Responsibilities include vehicle checks, tachograph compliance, trunking and various haulage deliveries for clients across the CO postcode area. Start times range 04:00–07:00 AM with 8+ hour minimums per shift.

Qualifications

• Must have your own transport to travel to and from work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence or Class 2 (CAT C) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle checks and ensure tachograph compliance.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Complete trunking and general haulage deliveries as required.
• Follow routes and delivery schedules with accuracy.
• Adhere to road safety regulations and hours rules.

Driver Hire Sudbury are currently recruiting for Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team.

Our clients are based across the CO postcode; Sudbury, Halstead etc. They require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday.

This a temporary, adhoc role, part time shifts available initally with potential for full time shifts.

Class 2 LGV shifts pay rate starts at £16.25 p/h weekday, Monday to Friday day work,

Class 1 LGV shifts pay rate starts at £17.37 p/h weekday, Monday to Friday day work,

PAYE only – not umbrella – not LTD

• Variety and flexibility. Opportunities to work for a variety of clients, no two weeks are the same. Choose your availability on a weekly bases and pick up work when it suits you.
• Start times vary 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
• Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, however nights are available
• Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants, palletised deliveries ETC
• Local and regional deliveries,
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements:
