Job summary

Driver Hire Sudbury is seeking Class 1 HGV drivers for ad-hoc and part-time shifts with the potential to move to full-time. Immediate start available across CO postcode areas, including Sudbury and Halstead. PAYE only, not umbrella or LTD, with weekly pay and a guaranteed minimum shift time.

Typical duties include trunking and general haulage for local and regional deliveries. Start times vary around early morning hours; nights and weekend work may be available as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have own transport to travel to work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum 6 penalty points (no DD/DR).
• PPE including steel toe cap boots may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle checks and ensure tachograph/compliance.
• Local and regional deliveries with various load types.
• Trunking, curtain sider, flat bed, refrigerated trailers and builders merchants.
• Maintain professional, customer-focused service at all times.

Job description

Driver Hire Sudbury are currently recruiting for Class 1 HGV Drivers to join our team.

Our clients are based across the CO postcode; Sudbury, Halstead etc. They require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday. Must be willing to driver Class 1 and Class 2 LGV.

This a temporary, adhoc role, part time shifts available initally with potential for full time shifts.

Immediate start available

Pay rate starts at £17.37 p/h weekday, monday to Friday day work

PAYE only - not umbrella - not LTD

Job Details

• Variety and flexibility. Opportunities to work for a variety of clients, no two weeks are the same.
• Start times vary 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
• Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, however nights are available
• Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants ETC
• Local and regional deliveries
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements:

• Must have your own transport to travel to and from work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No More then 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
• Must have appropriate PPE, including steel toe cap boots (Hi-Vis provided by Driver Hire).
• Must be able to work with both paper-based and PDA-based delivery systems.
• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential
