Job summary

Driver Hire Colchester is recruiting Class 1 and Class 2 HGV drivers to join our team for local and regional deliveries across the CO postcode area. Immediate start available, with day, night and weekend shifts.

Start times vary 04:00–07:00. Pay ranges from £16.25 to £20.00 per hour, with weekly pay, overtime opportunities, and options for full- or part-time roles. Must hold valid licences and a Tachograph Card; PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle checks and ensure tachograph compliance.
• Local and regional deliveries.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Drive a variety of trailer types including curtain sider, flatbed, and refrigerated units.

Driver Hire Colchester are currently recruiting for Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team.

Variety of work with a variety of clients across the CO postcode; Harwich, Colchester etc. We require drivers to cover busy periods, sickness and holiday.

Immediate start available

Minimum pay 0f £16.25 - £20.00 p/h for weekday, day shifts

Job Details:

• Start times vary between 04:00 and 07:00 AM.
• Mainly Monday to Friday Day work, however nights and weekends are available (Higher pay)
• Variety and flexibility. Trunking, General haulage, Curtain siders, Flat bed, Refrigerated trailers, Builders merchants ETC
• Local and regional deliveries
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring full compliance with tachograph and driving regulations
• Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Requirements:

• Must have your own transport to travel to and from work.
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No More then 6 penalty points (no DD, DR, or similar endorsements).
• Must have appropriate PPE, including steel toe cap boots (Hi-Vis provided by Driver Hire).
• Must be able to work with both paper-based and PDA-based delivery systems.
• 2 yrs experience preferred but not essential

Pay above is inclusive of holiday pay at 12.07%, other options for accruing holiday please ask.
