Job summary

Panda in Widnes is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to operate skip and RoRo vehicles across the local area. You’ll deliver, exchange and collect containers while maintaining high safety and customer service standards.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and tachograph card, plus proven driving experience in waste management. You’ll work a 45-hour week with paid breaks and overtime after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.
• Proven experience driving HGVs, ideally within the waste management sector.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and compliance.
• A reliable, professional approach with a commitment to teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills and a practical, customer‑focused attitude.
• Flexibility to support operational needs, including a 6am start and occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Operating HGV Class 2 skip and RoRo vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Delivering, exchanging, and collecting containers across customer sites.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly.
• Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and road laws.
• Working safely at all times and following site, transport, and road regulations.
• Providing a professional and helpful service to customers on site.
• Supporting the wider transport and depot team at our Widnes site.
