Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver based in Preston (PR2). The role involves straight trunk runs to Midlands hubs, no multi-drop, and a paid induction. Pre-booked shifts provide work-life balance with fixed Saturday and/or Sunday patterns and a typical 12-hour shift.

You will operate a modern fleet using telematics and route planning tech, with weekend rates and overtime after 8 hours. Full UK Class C+E licence, CPC and tachograph cards are required.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class C+E Licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• 6 points maximum – no DR/DG/CC/DD/BA endorsements
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 experience
• Data on tachograph card showing last 3–6 months of work
• Full induction paid time and must be completed midweek

Responsibilities

• Destinations: Midlands hubs.
• Workload: Straight trunk to hub and back or one collection.
• No multi-drop.
• No hand ball – clean driving work only.

Pay Rates

• Saturday: £23.52ph until midnight, £26.25ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours
• Sunday: £26.25ph until midnight, £18.15ph after and £25.25ph OT after 8 hours

45 minute break deducted daily and rates increase after 12 weeks service

Shift Patterns

• Fixed Shifts: Saturday and/or Sunday
• Average Shift Length: 12 hours
• Start times vary between 14:00 - 22:00
• Pre-booked rota for better planning
