Job Description

We are looking for Project Managers who have experience in the Central and Local Government sector to join our Central and Local Government Real Estate team. You will be responsible for leading and managing projects that deliver value to the public sector and preserve the built heritage, using innovative and sustainable approaches. You will also have the opportunity to work with high-profile clients and stakeholders and lead on a wide range of interesting and historically important projects across the South East. This is an exciting time to join our business unit and make a difference to the environment and the society.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the key liaison with the client, contractors, and designers
  • Conducting background research, data collection and benchmarking
  • Working on a range of heritage, historical, residential, or mixed‑use projects, at the enabling stage
  • Monitoring and documenting project progress and other performance indicators
  • Preparing formal project progress and other reports
  • Preparing presentation materials for client pitches, etc.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working on historically challenging or listed buildings and of liaising with planning authorities, and stakeholders such as Historic England and The 20th Century Society
  • A strategic mind and solution orientated approach to problems
  • Willingness to travel to London / Home Counties / South East when necessary
  • A “nice to have” …
    • Cognate qualification (construction, real estate, planning, engineering)
    • Holding or working towards MRICS or MCIOB
    • Broad understanding of the development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover, management)
    • Direct experience of on‑site construction under JCT or NEC contract forms
