Job summary

Volvo Group invites motivated individuals to join the Apprentice HGV Technician program. You will train in repairs, servicing, MOT and maintenance of modern trucks, buses and coaches, including hybrid technology, through a blend of workplace learning and block releases at Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby.

The apprenticeship comprises 18 blocks over 32 months, with costs for accommodation, food and travel borne by the employer.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic individuals with a strong interest in heavy vehicles
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication skills and a team player mentality
• GCSE A to C/Grade 4 in Math and English (desired)

Responsibilities

• Assist repairs carried out to Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools
• Support fault diagnosis process and learn warranty procedures
• Work with parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently
• Attend college courses and complete the Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Level 3 programme
