Job summary

Volvo Group is offering an Apprenticeship for aspiring HGV technicians in Derby with heavy vehicle focus. You will train across workshops, learn to repair, service, MOT and maintain modern trucks, buses and hybrids, and study through Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy.

The programme spans 32 months with 18 blocks split between virtual and in-person sessions in Derby. The employer covers accommodation, meals, and travel, with a dedicated coach providing 1-2-1 guidance to achieve IMI Heavy Vehicle

Qualifications

• GCSE Math and English at grade C/4 or higher.
• Interest in heavy vehicles and willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs following Volvo standards and using Volvo tools.
• Assist fault diagnosis and warranty procedures.
• Work with parts team to fit correct replacement parts.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
